Thursday, November 26th: Happy Thanksgiving Day! The Moon resides in Gemini, the sign that rules gossip and façades, for the entire day. However, she does turn void-of-course in Gemini, at 9:35 PM, and remains so for the rest of the day.
For the last month, each of us has been feeling and experiencing the flat energy that seems to be all around us. We have ideas and want to get going, but we just can’t seem to make our self get up and do something. This is because of the ongoing challenging relationship between Saturn (planet of career), and Neptune (planet of spiritual pilgrimage). This aspect is exact today, and its energy will continue to color the ambience of this entire Thanksgiving weekend. Traditions and expectations could be especially hard to deal with; and we may struggle with the idea of wanting to be alone and yet missing the connection of our own traditions and family. But whatever you do, make sure that you have a built-in exit plan so that you don’t feel overwhelmed by the social implications of this holiday. Find your own traditions and follow those.
The Moon trines Mars, 12:23 AM: If you are up early, this is a productive time to be working on a Thanksgiving meal. And this is a perfect time if you really enjoy working by yourself. The rest of us may need something to distract us so we can get to sleep.
The Moon opposes Mercury, 1:26 AM: This is a helpful energy to use for organizing your files, peeling potatoes, or getting a better handle on your day. This, however, is not the best energy to promote sleep. Your dream night could be very active.
Saturn squares Neptune, 6:18 AM: This is an ongoing and challenging relationship between Saturn (planet of duty, responsibility, and obligation) and Neptune (planet of spiritual seeking, having a balanced life, and our inner artist). In the bigger picture that is affecting each of us worldwide, Saturn (planet of limitations and restrictions) is making her influence felt on Neptune (planet of oil and gas). This is the prime culprit and the reason that gas prices have remained low. Gas prices will struggle to rebound, and they will not rebound until the latter part of 2016, when this aspect is finally over.
Saturn fuels our fear about loss and lack of security, while Neptune knows that it’s just not worth it. In order to make these planets work for you and not against you, you have to be able to successfully mix both of their energies. We can follow our dreams with Neptune; while Saturn can make sure that we don’t come off the tracks and lose sight of our intended purpose. Saturn helps us to recognize the potential problems and wants to come up with some possible solutions before we even start out on building our dreams. Saturn wants to keep us safe. Neptune wants our inner life to be more fulfilling and she isn’t satisfied with just pushing the rock up the hill every day. The negative side of this planetary combination is that we feel that nothing will work and we give up hope and stew in our own juices. Try to stay in the middle of the path and have both of these planets work for you. The energy of this aspect has been in effect for at least the past six weeks and will continue to be in effect for at least the next three weeks. Keep your expectations realistic and make sure that it’s something that you really want to do.
The Moon sextiles Uranus, 3:16 PM: This is a creative and imaginative time. And if you are up early preparing Thanksgiving dinner, you will enjoy the feeling of tradition and connections with friends and family.
The Moon squares Jupiter, 9:24 PM: The energy of this aspect provides a perfect excuse to over-eat! This is an enjoyable time for that late-night snack. An extra piece of pie, or another shot of eggnog, will do just fine.
The Moon trines Venus, 9:35 PM: Following quickly after the previous aspect, you will want whipped cream on that pie. Find yourself a comfortable place to sit and watch a relaxing movie, so you can take a nap before you have to go to bed.
The Moon is now void-of-course in Gemini, at 9:35 PM, and remains so, until she enters Cancer, at 1:27 PM, on Friday afternoon. This is a long (almost 16-hours) Moon void-of-course.
All times are CST.
